Witton Centre Redevelopment

The City of Onkaparinga have redeveloped the Port Noarlunga Foreshore.  A comprehensive reconfiguration of the Witton Centre is integral to this proposal and includes:

· Port Noarlunga Surf Lifesaving Club

· DECS Aquatics Program

· Public Amenities

· Commercial Areas (Café / Restaurant and Kiosk)

Spatial arrangements of the diverse elements within the building prioritise access to the expansive views and functional linkages to the beach while creating active frontages on two levels.

Additions and external treatments comprehensively rejuvenate the original building to create a diverse, informal character.

The “jetty” is the primary urban design element that links the building, landscape and circulation elements providing a distinctive focus for the site.  It provides a softening colonnade at the lower level, defined extension of the plaza at the upper level and a strong physical and visual link with the street and the neighbouring commercial area.
